In The Spotlight: Odesza

One of the bands that is absolutely exploding on to the Electro/Indie scene is Washington duo Odesza. Coming from two separate DJ careers, Harrison Mills and Clayton Knight met at WWU and struck up an instant understanding of the finer points of electronic music.

They put together their first  EP, Summer's Gone, and never looked back. With a crisp clean sound that you can jam to, they never have managed to disappoint me yet.

After Summer's Gone, they went on to release My Friends Never Die, and they began to amp up their live show.

Touring across the US, they began to amass a devoted following, so by the time their first studio album dropped, it was a big deal.

With some massive remixes, including Pretty Lights and RAC, Odesza have proven that they are here to stay. You can't help but dance a little when you here the clean melodic sound that they are able to produce, and you know then that these guys have got something special.

Genre Spotlight: Electro Indie

One of the up and coming music genres, Electro Indie has become a staple of indie listeners (or musical hipsters, of which I am one). There have been pioneers in this genre such as Flume and Pretty Lights, but I am going to focus on the lesser known must-haves.

Hippie Sabotage

Petit Biscuit

ANDRU

Way more chill than EDM, not as annoying as trap, and music that you jam to, Electro Indie claims the crown of the Electronic family.
